Placement Exams for the Class of 2030

MATH

All incoming freshmen are required to take the Math Placement Exam to assess each individual’s level of preparation and potential for success in the Marmion Math program. The results will determine placement in either Algebra 1, Algebra 1 Honors, or Honors Geometry.

  • Math Placement Exam dates: May 4, 6, or 7 at 4:00 PM (Make-up date is May 13.)
  • This test is mandatory for ALL freshmen. 
    • Students currently enrolled in Geometry may also opt to sign-up for a second test date to take the Geometry Placement Exam.

WORLD LANGUAGES

The purpose of the Placement Exam is to find the best placement for students taking a World Language course. Incoming students who have had prior World Language preparation should take the Placement test.

This test is ONLY mandatory for students with prior experience in French or Spanish. Any student who does not take the Placement Exam will be automatically placed in French 1 or Spanish 1.

  • French/Spanish Placement Exam date: April 30 or May 6 at 3:30 PM
