How To Become a Cadet

We’re grateful you’re considering becoming part of the Marmion Academy family. Follow the steps below to start your journey towards becoming a Cadet.

Register for the Entrance Exam (Incoming freshmen only)
- Class of 2031 Scholarship Qualifying Exam December 5, 2026
  - Make-up exams (do not qualify for Scholarships) January 9, 2027 and March 20, 2027
  - Scholarship recipients will be notified of the award and acceptance by the end of December.
Complete the online application ($50 Fee)
- Submit student’s most recent report card, standardized test scores (uploaded with the online application) and letter of recommendation

Transfering to Marmion Academy

Marmion Academy welcomes transfer students in grades 9-12. Our admissions team will guide you through every step of the transfer process, from application to class scheduling.

Complete the online application ($50 Fee). Submit student’s most recent report card, standardized test scores (uploaded with the online application) and letter of recommendation.
Transfer applicants may need to interview with Mr. Bill Dickson, the Director of Admissions, prior to acceptance.

Make It Marmion Day

Monday, October 12, 2026
Eighth grade students from across the area are invited to join us for Make It Marmion Day, an event designed to give future Cadets a true taste of life at Marmion Academy.

Young men and women will spend the day meeting new friends, playing games, and experiencing our vibrant campus community firsthand. With opportunities to explore our academics, athletics, and student life, this event is the perfect way to see what makes Marmion such a unique place to learn and grow.

Marmion Open House

Come explore our campus and experience all that Marmion has to offer. You’ll learn how our three pillars of Spiritual Formation, Academic Excellence, and Leadership Development come together to provide a truly holistic education that prepares students for life.

This event includes opportunities to tour our beautiful campus, meet monks, faculty, staff, coaches, and hear directly from current students about academics, extracurriculars and life at Marmion.

All attendees will be entered into a drawing to win a $500 tuition voucher. (*Voucher valid for new students only; must be present to win.)

Entrance Exam

Marmion Academy administers the HSPT (High School Placement Test) scholarship qualifying exam in December each year. The exam is one criterion for acceptance and honors placement. Only incoming freshman are required to take this exam.

Applicants should register for the exam through their admissions account starting in October.

Parents: There will be an informal Q&A with refreshments in the library during the exam.

Explore Day

Friday, April 23, 2027
In the spring of your 7th grade school year, you can come experience Marmion through our Explore Day, an event designed to offer a dynamic glimpse into high school life.

Over the course of this two-hour visit, you’ll get to take part in sessions highlighting spirituality, academics, athletic offerings and leadership building.

You’ll also have some hands-on learning opportunities.

Tours
Campus tours are available by appointment year-round. Please contact Bill Dickson at (630) 897-6936 (ext. 227) or bdickson@marmion.org to schedule a visit.

Shadow Visit
We invite 8th graders and transfer students interested in Marmion to spend a half day on campus shadowing a current student. You will attend classes, enjoy lunch (on us) in our dining hall, and get a firsthand look at what life is like at Marmion. Shadow visits are available from October through April each year. Applicants can sign up for a shadow day through their admissions account. You do not need to complete the application to schedule a shadow day.
