Athletics at Marmion Academy are so much more than competition—they are a continuation of our mission to form young people of courage, compassion, and character. With 14 varsity sports competing at the freshman, sophomore, junior varsity and varsity levels, students have every opportunity to grow as teammates, leaders, and individuals.

We’re proud members of the Illinois High School Association (IHSA), the Chicago Catholic League (CCL) for our boys sports, the Girls Catholic Athletic Conference (GCAC) for our girls sports, and the Chicago Catholic Hockey League.

Our coaching philosophy mirrors our educational one: Marmion coaches are teachers, mentors, and role models. They focus not only on performance, but on helping student-athletes discover their strengths, build resilience and carry forward the values they learn on and off the field.

During the 2024-2025 seasons, Cadet athletics shined:

• 7 out of 14 Cadet teams placed in the top 2 within the Chicago Catholic League conference
• 5 teams placed in the top 10 at State:
  • Wrestling 2025 State Champions
  • Swimming 2nd place
  • Golf 6th place
  • Cross country 7th place
  • Tennis 8th place
• 2 individual state champions
  • Regan Konen ‘25 Golf (2nd consecutive state title)
  • Nicholas Garcia ‘26 Wresting (2nd consecutive state title)
