The Marmion Benedictines along with the Board of Trustees invite ALL to be part of Marmion’s most admired tradition, Salute to Youth. Share in an evening of elegance and friendship while raising funds for Marmion Academy. This beautiful evening, which honors the senior class for their accomplishments and potential, is open to all Marmion parents, past parents, alumni, and friends of Marmion. It includes a cocktail reception with bountiful hors d’ oeuvres and open bar, followed by a four-course gourmet meal with wine in the Grand Ballroom, continued open bar, and dancing to live music.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE EVENING

     Student Speech: Each year a student from the senior class is asked to speak about his class, his experiences and future hopes for himself and classmates.

      Presentation of the Guard and Court of Honor: A formal post-dinner presentation of the Guard and Court of Honor* is a highlight of the evening followed by the Presentation Dance. *The Guard of Honor is comprised of Marmion Academy seniors. The Court of Honor is the young ladies they escort.

      Presentation Dance: After the formal presentation, the Guard and Court of Honor parade onto the dance floor for first dance of Salute to Youth.

      Parents’ Dance: Immediately following the Presentation Dance, all parents of the Guard and Court of Honor are invited to join their son/daughter on the dance floor.

THERE ARE NO SILENT AUCTIONS, LIVE AUCTIONS, OR RAFFLES! It truly is an evening of friendship and fun- Please join us! A portion of all dinner costs are tax deductible. GUARD OF HONOR DRESS CODE

The event dress code for the Marmion senior is a black classic tuxedo. The Advancement Office coordinates the choosing of the tuxedo style along with fittings, delivery and pick up of the tuxedo! The boys just need to show up to their fitting and pick up the tuxedo- easy as that! It is all handled at Marmion Academy during the school day or immediately after school. The cost of the tuxedo rental is included in the senior year fees- the student/parent is responsible for returning the tuxedo the day after Salute!

Sunday, April 26, anytime – Seniors MUST return entire tuxedo bundle to ANY Men’s Warehouse before EOD to avoid late fees (charged to family)

COURT OF HONOR 

ALL COURT OF HONOR DRESSES MUST BE A WHITE FULL-LENGTH BALL GOWN WITH MODEST NECKLINE
Click here for a complete list of gown requirements. These requirements are designed with modesty and safety in mind. Please know that these requirements are strictly adhered to. When purchasing a gown, please remember that the young lady will be walking up several steps onto a platform and curtsying before the crowd (parents, sponsors and our monks) during the event.
All gowns must be approved at or before the Salute Dress Rehearsal. After reviewing the complete gown requirements please direct any concerns or questions about a gown to: Jessica Brown Events Manager via text to (630) 815-1200 or jbrown@marmion.org We are happy to provide feedback on a dress BEFORE you purchase it. Simply send a photo of the young lady in the gown and we will provide feedback as soon as possible.
