Men's Choir
Voices That Lift and Inspire
The Marmion Men’s Chorus is the foundation for all choral activities at Marmion. Rooted in the Benedictine tradition, the chorus develops students’ musical skills, vocal technique, and personal character. Beyond performance, the chorus fosters a supportive community where students grow as individuals and as musicians, gaining confidence and self-expression through every rehearsal and concert.
Congratulations to the Marmion Men’s Chorus on a truly historic achievement!
The Marmion Men’s Chorus performed at the Illinois Music Education Conference (IMEC)—a highly competitive, statewide event featuring select middle school, high school, and college choirs.
This once-in-a-career opportunity marks a major milestone for our music program—the first time Marmion has ever performed at IMEC. We are incredibly proud of our Cadets and deeply grateful to Mr. Brian Birch for his leadership, our amazing parents for their support, and Mr. Joe Large for traveling to record this special moment.
Honors Choir
Honors Choir is open to students who wish to receive honors credit for their choral work, with instructor approval. It operates within the Marmion Men’s Chorus and allows students to explore more advanced musical expectations while earning academic recognition
Varsity Choir
Varsity Choir is an advanced ensemble within the Men’s Chorus. Members audition annually and meet at least three times per week to master challenging repertoire, including barbershop, spirituals, glees, pop, beatboxing, and more. Each student receives a weekly voice lesson to develop technique, musicianship, and solo preparation for competitions and college auditions. Varsity Choir competes through ILMEA and WSMA, consistently representing Marmion with dedication and excellence.
Liturgical Choir
Liturgical Choir performs at All School Mass, leading the music and supporting the spiritual life of the community. All Men’s Chorus students participate, with opportunities to sing psalms as solos or duets. Merit points are awarded to students who cantor at Mass, deepening their musical and spiritual experience.
Froshsemble
Froshsemble is designed for underclassmen to build their skills and prepare for more advanced ensembles. Meeting weekly during the spring semester, this non-curricular group focuses on developing young voices and ensemble sound while helping students explore their musical abilities.
